20 Oct 2012 SAFL Post Season News

Game 8 Awaits
Hello all - thank you for a great season. It's been a pleasure to visit so many towns and game sites this year and to watch so much great football. From player registration, through weigh-ins, the regular season, and now into the post season, I sincerely hope that all of the players, families, coaches and programs in the SAFL family have had a positive year.

As we wrap up the final week of the regular season, it's time to look forward to the playoffs.

SAFL Play Offs

Hello everyone. On Sunday evening, the Scheduling Committee will be reviewing standings. Coaches - be sure you get your game results entered on the website ASAP!

Playoff Meeting
Monday, October 22nd, 7pm, South Hadley Fire Station
All towns must send a representative to the Playoff Meeting. Please coordinate with your Town/Team President to ensure your town is represented.  All seeding ties will be broken at the meeting, and field locations will be announced. Playoff process (how they are administered, etc.) will also be announced.

Tie Breakers
All ties go next to the head to head records. If that cancels out then all tied teams names will be placed in a hat and the Commissioner will pull 1 name out randomly. The team that is pulled out wins the tie breaker and advances.

Weekend of Oct 28th - SemiFinals
#1 teams from each division will play #4
#2 teams from each division will play #3

Field Location
In each division (Red, White, Blue) -
The #1 seed in the Seniors age bracket will host the #1 vs #4 games for Peewee, Junior, and Senior in their division. If the #1 Seniors seed is unable to host, the Scheduling Committee will work with the other towns in the playoffs to pick the field location.

To review, each division will have two playoff  sites on the Weekend of Oct 28th (each site will host 3 games.)

All Officials Fees and EMT fees will be split evenly, per game/per team involved. The exact fee for each team will be confirmed by Thursday, October 25th.

All games will follow standard SAFL game timing.

All ties will go to sudden death overtime.

SAFL Super Bowl Weekend
The winners who advance from the SemiFinals will move on to Division Super Bowls which are currently planned for Sunday, November 4th (subject to field availability. there is the possibility that some sites may play on Saturday, November 3rd.)

All games will follow standard SAFL game timing.

All ties will go to sudden death overtime.
