WEIGH-INS @ THE KICK OFF

Make up weigh-ins will be held @ the SAFL Kick Off @ Spec Pond Saturday, August 17th from 9am to 2pm. We will be located by the concession stand.

SAFL Mission Statement

This organization was formed at the Ludlow Boys Club in 1966 and is known as the Suburban Amateur Football League (SAFL).
The Suburban Amateur Football League, SAFL serves the youth of Western MA. in grades 3 to 8.
The SAFL endorses the concept of maximum athlete participation at all levels of play in the league. The SAFL encourages and enables youth to benefit from participating in football in a safe and structured environment. Throughout our league we teach sportsmanship, fundamentals, teamwork, skills and knowledge that youth will use throughout their lives.

2019 SAFL Kickoff - Saturday, August 17th

11:00 AM ....West Springfield vs.Holyoke
12:00 PM ....South Hadley vs. Westfield
01:00 PM ....Frontier vs. Longmeadow
02:00 PM ....East Longmeadow vs. Wilbraham

Games will begin at the times indicated above, with a 5 minute break at XX:25 - XX:30 for halftime, running the remaining untim XX:55. The last 5 minutes of each hour will be to get players off of the sidelines and for the new squads to be ready to begin.

On behalf of Falcon Youth Football, we are very excited and ready to host the 2019 SAFL Kick Off at our fields at Spec Pond! Please see the details below and the field map to help you plan your day! We look forward to hosting you this Saturday.
Parking and Fields:
• Parking will be clearly marked. As we will have multiple fields for warm ups and games, please park in the marked lots. The attached map can help you identify which field you will need to go to for warm ups and then the game. The field will be used for overflow parking.
• Limited bleacher seating will be available, if you like to sit and take in the game remember to bring your bag chairs.
• There is no smoking and no dogs allowed at the Spec Pond Recreational Facility.
Food & Fun for the Family:
• Our concession stand is stocked and ready to satisfy your hunger, from 8 am - 4pm! We will be serving breakfast (sandwiches, bagels, etc), lunch(hot dogs, hamburgers, fried, etc), ice cream treats, drinks and snacks.
• We will have a fan zone to keep siblings occupied with Corn Hole, Football Toss and Pull A Pop ($1 each try) to win a prize.

Enjoy the Day at Spec Pond Recreational Facility:
• Our facility has so much to offer this weekend. In addition to the Kick Off, your family can spend some time on the playground and/or the basketball court - remember to bring a basketball and stay awhile.
• The Spec Pond Spray Park will be open - pack your bathing suit and cool off after your game.

PEE WEES - 2 OFFICIALS $50 EACH
JUNIORS - 3 OFFICIALS $55 EACH
SENIORS - 3 OFFICIALS $55 EACH

JUNIOR VARSITY FEES:
PEE WEES - 2 OFFICIALS $50 EACH
JUNIORS - 2 OFFICIALS $55 EACH
SENIORS - 2 OFFICIALS $55 EACH

Article 20 - Officials

  1. Two Certified Officials are required to preside over every Pee Wee game. A minimum of two Certified Officials are required to conduct Junior and Senior games, although three Officials are highly recommended. If only two officials are present at the Junior and Senior games, they will split the third official's fee.
  2. The league requires that two certified official be present at every Junior Varsity (JV) game.
  3. The home team is responsible for payment of all officials for all varsity games. Junior Varsity teams will split the cost of the officials.
  4. If you are a team that is considered a travel team each official gets an additional $10 (once, not for each game) for travel expense. Travel teams are: Amherst, Belchertown, Easthampton, Frontier, Franklin County, Northampton, Palmer, Quabbin, Ware and Warren/West Brookfield.

SAFL DRONE POLICY

Prohibiting the use of Drones (Unmanned Aircraft Systems or UAS's). Unless granted special permission by the SAFL Commissioner, the use of drones (UAS), for any purpose, is not permitted at any SAFL regular season game, playoff game or super bowl.. This Prohibition applies to all fields of play and covers a ban on the entire facility being used as part of the SAFL event, including the spectator stands and parking area. This ban does not include practices.

 
SAFL NATIONAL ANTHEM PROTEST POLICY

A student athlete has the right to voice their first amendment right and protest the National Anthem in a respectful way. Kneeling, sitting, etc... quietly is appropriate and their right. Even though viewpoints may vary, it is important to note that this is a form of protective speech. At no point, can a coach hand/issue out any discipline in relation to this or any matter pertaining to an individual's right.
