SAFL Mission Statement

This organization was formed at the Ludlow Boys Club in 1966 and is known as the Suburban Amateur Football League (SAFL).
The Suburban Amateur Football League, SAFL serves the youth of Western MA. in grades 3 to 8.
The SAFL endorses the concept of maximum athlete participation at all levels of play in the league. The SAFL encourages and enables youth to benefit from participating in football in a safe and structured environment. Throughout our league we teach sportsmanship, fundamentals, teamwork, skills and knowledge that youth will use throughout their lives.

YOUTH COACHES CLINIC @ UMASS

The Western Mass High School Football Association will be presenting a coaches clinic on June 16th, 9am to 12pm @ the Umass Football Performance Center in Amherst. Umass Head Coach Mark Whipple and his staff will host the clinic. Prizes of practice equipment will be given out. This is a great opportunity for the coaches in the SAFL.

SOUTH HADLEY'S FOOTBALL COMBINE

 
USA FOOTBALL CAMP

USA Football and the U.S. National Team is holding its annual New England Regional Camp on Sat & Sun May 19th-20th, at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass.

The Regional camp is for athletes currently in the 6th-12th grade and will feature two day of non-contact, position-specific drills. Athletes will also be put through the Heads Up Football tackling circuit to ensure safe tackling as well as take part in competitive 1on1's and 7on7's, which will allow players to show off their ability.

The coaches at the camp will be current NCAA coaches from different levels, and all athletes are competing to earn invitations to the U.S. National Team program this summer.

SAFL UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEM OR DRONE POLICY
SAFL Drone Policy
Prohibiting the use of Drones (Unmanned Aircraft Systems or UAS's). Unless granted special permission by the SAFL Commissioner, the use of drones (UAS), for any purpose, is not permitted at any SAFL regular season game, playoff game or super bowl.. This Prohibition applies to all fields of play and covers a ban on the entire facility being used as part of the SAFL event, including the spectator stands and parking area. This ban does not include practices.
 
SAFL NATIONAL ANTHEM PROTEST POLICY

A student athlete has the right to voice their first amendment right and protest the National Anthem in a respectful way. Kneeling, sitting, etc... quietly is appropriate and their right. Even though viewpoints may vary, it is important to note that this is a form of protective speech. At no point, can a coach hand/issue out any discipline in relation to this or any matter pertaining to an individual's right.
